Commission software for distributors, paid on margin
Pay reps on gross margin instead of revenue, with different rates by product line, and only once the customer has paid. Calculated from the invoice export your ERP already produces.
Margin commission, worked out
Paying on margin keeps reps from discounting their way to volume: a 10% discount on that invoice cuts the margin to $2,800 and the commission to $560. Import a margin column next to the amount and the plan uses it.
Rates by product line
Rules can be limited to products or categories, so a push on one line can be a dated bonus without touching the rest of the plan.
Pay when paid, and returns
- Credit invoices on the payment date: unpaid invoices earn nothing until the money arrives.
- A return or credit note inside the clawback window reverses the commission in the next open period.
- Partial refunds reverse only their share.
Vexquota has no direct ERP connector. Most ERPs export invoices to CSV or Excel; map the columns once and reuse the mapping every month.
Questions
Should distributors pay commission on revenue or margin?
Margin is common for distributors because it stops reps discounting their way to volume. Vexquota plans can pay on the deal amount or on the margin, and each product or category can have its own rate.
Can reps be paid only when the customer pays?
Yes. Set the plan to credit deals on the payment date instead of the close date, and an unpaid invoice earns nothing until it is paid.
Import last month's invoices and compare with your spreadsheet. From $12 per rep.
