New business and renewals, worked out
Import each policy with its type as the category, and give each category its own rate. A producer bonus for reaching a new-business quota is one more rule.
Chargebacks without rewriting history
Set a clawback window on the plan, for example 90 days. When a policy is cancelled inside the window, the commission is reversed as its own line in the next open period:
Closed months stay closed. Producers see the chargeback explained instead of a statement that silently changed.
Pay when the carrier pays
Plans can credit a policy on its payment date instead of the bind date, so producers are paid on commission the agency has actually received.
Vexquota does not download or reconcile carrier statements. Export what you receive into a CSV and import it; the column mapping is saved for next month.
Questions
How do insurance agencies pay producer commission?
Usually as a percentage of the commission the agency receives from the carrier, often with a different rate for new business and renewals and with chargebacks when a policy is cancelled early.
Can Vexquota pay different rates on new business and renewals?
Yes. Import the policy type as the deal category and give each category its own rate in the plan.
How are chargebacks handled?
Set a clawback window on the plan. When a policy is cancelled within the window, the commission is reversed as a line in the next open period, so statements already closed are never rewritten.
