The agent split, worked out

$450,000 sale · 3% commission to the brokerage · 70/30 split
Gross commission: $450,000 × 3%$13,500.00
Agent: $13,500 × 70%$9,450.00
Brokerage: $13,500 × 30%$4,050.00

Import the gross commission of each closing as the deal amount and set the agent's plan to their split, 70% here. If you import sale prices instead, the plan pays a percentage of the price, like the "Real estate agent" template: 3% of the sale plus a $150 bonus per new listing.

Statements agents trust

Agents see only their own closings. Each line reads like "$13,500.00 × 70% = $9,450.00", with the trail one click away. When a closing is corrected after the month is closed, the change appears as an adjustment next month, so the statement an agent was paid on never changes behind their back.

Vexquota is a commission calculator, not a transaction back office: it does not manage listings, documents or trust accounting. Franchise and transaction fees are not deducted automatically yet, and annual caps that span many periods are not supported yet; import gross commission net of fees, or handle those in payroll.

Questions

How is a real estate agent's commission calculated?

The gross commission is the sale price times the commission rate, for example $450,000 × 3% = $13,500. The agent's share depends on the split with the brokerage, such as 70/30, so the agent earns $9,450 before any franchise or transaction fees.

Can the agent split change with production?

Yes, within a month or a quarter. Tiers by period amount raise the agent's share once their gross commission in the period passes a threshold, and marginal tiers pay the higher share only on the part above it. Annual caps that span many periods are not supported yet.

Can two agents share one sale?

Yes. Credit the deal to both agents by percentage, such as 50/50 for a co-listing. Each agent's commission and totals use their own share.
